Purification Ritual
“Please bathe the baby Buddha. Let unwholesome thoughts fade away and your mind become pure.”
Bathing the Buddha (Yokbul) is a ritual in which scented water is gently poured over the head of the Birth Buddha, a statue depicting the Buddha at the moment of his birth. Performed on Buddha’s Birthday, this ceremony expresses reverence for the Buddha and symbolizes the purification of one’s inner self.
